Darren has a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology Degree from the University of New South Wales, as well as a postgraduate degree in Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University. After graduating from the Master of Chiropractic, Darren volunteered in a spine care clinic in Botswana, Africa, in this time, he looked after many patients and conditions. Darren is impassioned and enthusiastic to care for and educate his patients to have a proactive role in treating their presenting problems. This also carries over in helping them improve their overall quality of life, and in turn having them take charge of their own health through his treatment and advice.
Darren uses a variety of chiropractic techniques that may be applied with his hands or with the use of an instrument or specialised table. Prior to undertaking the profession of chiropractic Darren was a remedial massage therapist for 16 years. In this time he also undertook yoga teacher training in Ashtanga and the Knoff system, and taught both styles for 10 years. When Darren is not in the clinic he enjoys exploring the great outdoors, and has a particular interest in hiking.
He considers regular exercise to be an integral part of a well-balanced life and if this can be incorporated into daily activities, even better. He encourages patients to do regular exercise and suggests specific home exercises to help with their treatment progress.
